Weekly Magazine | Praying Through the Weight of Worry
Your weekly magazine is here—real stories, real faith, real encouragement. Just for you!
Dear Friends,
Have you ever noticed how worry can sneak up on you? One small concern turns into a restless night, a racing mind, and a heart that feels anything but still. We carry so many hidden weights—about our health, our families, our futures—and while we know we’re called to trust God, sometimes the anxiety still lingers. Sometimes it presses in hard.
This week, we’re leaning into prayer—not as a last resort, but as our first response. Whether you’re dealing with constant low-grade stress or a full-on anxious spiral, prayer is where peace begins. And it doesn’t have to be long or polished—sometimes, just one breath and one whispered line of Scripture can help us re-center.
Wherever this message finds you—in a quiet moment or the middle of a hard day—our hope is that these stories will encourage you to stop, breathe, and pray. The weight of worry may be heavy, but you don’t have to carry it alone.

Finding Peace in the Breath of Prayer
How a simple practice helped calm anxiety and deepen trust in God.
By: Jennifer Tucker
In the beginning, life began with a breath: the breath of God Himself.
Genesis 2:7 says, “Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”
Even now, it’s His breath that moves in and out of our lungs, flows through every vessel and vein in our bodies, and gives life to every one of our organs and cells.
Acts 17:25 says, “…He himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.” Every breath we take is a profound gift, but breathing isn’t something we actively think about. Our bodies breathe automatically, all the time, and we don’t usually give it much intentional thought. That is, until we have trouble catching our breath. Until we experience moments or seasons in life that take us by surprise and knock the wind right out of us.
