Weekly Magazine | Light for the Darkest Days
Your weekly magazine is here—real stories, real faith, real encouragement. Just for you!
Dear Friends,
We know this is not an easy topic to talk about. Depression can feel like a silent weight, a shadow that presses down on both body and soul. Whether you’re someone who carries that weight, or you love someone who does, we want you to know that you are not alone. We see you, we care about you, and more importantly, God sees you in the depths of your pain.
October is Depression Awareness Month, a time dedicated to shedding light on this often silent struggle. We believe that now, more than ever, is the moment to speak up, to support one another, and to offer the hope and love of Christ. Talking about depression can be hard—sometimes words don’t seem to match the depth of what we feel. But it’s in these deep, dark places where God’s light can shine the brightest.
This issue is dedicated to offering you biblical encouragement, practical support, and hope rooted in God’s unchanging love. We acknowledge that this journey may be difficult, but we want to walk alongside you, reminding you that even in the hardest moments, God is near and there is hope!
If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, please call or text the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988. You are so loved, and help is available.
May this issue bring you strength, comfort, and the reassurance that you are seen, valued, and deeply cared for by God and by us.
Encouraging you in God’s truth,

For Those Battling Depression…
Dear Lord,
I feel so overwhelmed right now. It’s hard to put into words the weight that I’ve been carrying. Some days, I can barely get through the day. I feel lost, tired, and far away from everything and everyone, even You. I want to believe You are close, but I struggle to feel it. Please meet me here, right where I am.
I don’t have the strength to fight on my own anymore. I need You. Help me to trust that You see me, that You care, even when my heart feels numb. Please remind me of Your promises—promises that say You will never leave me, that You are with me in my darkest moments.
Lord, lift this burden from me. Give me peace where there is anxiety and rest where there is exhaustion. Give me hope when all I see is despair. I want to believe that better days are ahead, but right now, it’s hard to see that. So please, just help me take one step at a time. Help me cling to You, even when I have no words.
Thank You for loving me, even when I can’t love myself. Thank You for staying with me, even when I feel so alone. Give me the courage to keep going, and the faith to believe that You are still working, even in this darkness.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
For Those Helping a Loved One with Depression…
Dear Lord,
My heart aches for my loved one who is struggling with so much right now. I see their pain, their exhaustion, their isolation, and it breaks me to watch them suffer.
Give me wisdom to know how to best support them. Help me find the right words to say when words are needed, and the patience to listen when silence is what they need most. Help me offer the unconditional love and grace You show to us.
Lift the darkness that surrounds them and bring them to a place of peace and restoration. If it’s Your will, bring healing. Surround them with people who will love and support them in the ways I cannot.
Lord, I place my loved one in Your hands, trusting that You will bring light to their heart and hope to their soul.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Galatians 6:2: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
