Meet Our Writers: Laura Sandretti
The Voices of Just Between Us
One of the things we cherish most at Just Between Us is the community God has built through authentic, faith-filled voices—women who are willing to be honest about the joys and struggles of walking with Jesus.
Today, we’d love to introduce you to one of those voices: Laura Sandretti.
Laura is a speaker, author, and longtime follower of Christ who writes with courage, humility, and deep biblical insight. In one of her recent JBU articles, Laura shared openly about a season of doubt and burnout after years of ministry, seminary training, and faithfully serving God. Through Moses’ story in Exodus, she reminds us that honest prayers, humility, discomfort, and perseverance are often where God does His deepest work in us.
Laura recently recorded a short video sharing how much she enjoys writing for Just Between Us and why this community means so much to her. We think you’ll love hearing directly from her heart.
We’re grateful for writers like Laura, and we pray her words encourage you today.

What Moses Taught Me About Staying Faithful
Learning from the Dessert
By: Laura Sandretti
Five years ago, I began struggling with doubt. I wondered if God loved me, if His Word was reliable, and if my life was different because I followed Him. Although many people battle these questions, I did so while attending seminary, teaching at women’s conferences, and on staff at a large church—after I had walked with God for twenty years.
What do we do when we aren’t sure if following Christ is worth the effort? What do we do when we have walked with Christ for years, but are frustrated and confused?
Moses had similar struggles. Despite his obedience and love for the Lord, Moses faced resistance, hostility, and the appearance that God was not holding up His end of the bargain. What can we learn from Moses about how to handle disappointment in our faith?
Laura Sandretti is a speaker, author, and blogger, and has a master’s degree in Theological Studies from Trinity Evangelical School. Additionally she has authored two books: Imperfectly Perfect: A Devotional for the Transformed Everyday Sinner and Walking by the Homeless. Laura and her husband have three children and live in Sussex, Wis. Visit her blog, Everyday Sinner, at laurasandretti.com.
