Don’t Just Accept Yourself

Dear Friends,

Yesterday, we were reminded that in Christ, we are named—not overlooked or forgotten, but deeply known and dearly loved. Today, we take the next step in embracing our identity: growth.

While the world say’s “Just be yourself,” Scripture invites us to something richer and more transforming—becoming more like Jesus. That doesn’t mean we reject who we are or walk in shame. It means we live with a holy discontent, knowing we’re a work in progress, being shaped daily by grace.

In Colossians 3, Paul urges us to take off the old and put on the new—to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. These aren’t personality traits to master overnight—they’re spiritual garments we put on again and again, empowered by the One who clothes us in righteousness.

As you read today, reflect on this: being known by name means God sees who you are—but He also sees who you’re becoming. That’s a beautiful thing.

Encouraging You in God’s Truth,

P.S. Know someone who needs a reminder that they’re seen and loved? Feel free to pass along today’s reflection—it might be just the encouragement their heart needs today.
