Day 1 | Easter Reflections
Good Friday
Dear Friends,
Welcome to Day 1 of our Easter Reflections journey. Today, we pause and reflect on the solemn reality of Good Friday—the day when Jesus, the Son of God, was led to the cross to suffer and die for the sins of the world. The weight of this day is hard to grasp fully, yet in it, we see the depths of God’s love and sacrifice for us.
As we walk through this reflection, let’s allow ourselves to feel the grief of this day and the profound sorrow of Jesus’ suffering. Yet, in this sorrow, there is hope. For even as Jesus hung on the cross, He was accomplishing something far greater than anyone could imagine at the time—He was paving the way for resurrection.
Let today’s devotion invite you to slow down and fully embrace the gravity of Good Friday. Whatever burdens you carry today, allow this time to bring you closer to the heart of God, who understands our pain more deeply than we can ever know.
Encouraging You in God’s Truth,
P.S. As you read, feel free to share the hope of Easter by inviting someone to join you on this journey. Whether it’s a friend, family member, or someone in need of encouragement, extend the gift of Christ’s peace today.
Good Friday
“They led Him out to crucify Him.” — Mark 15:20
“Easter comes around as quickly as Christmas, Lord, or so it seems,” I murmured as I slipped into a back pew.
“Yes.”
“I’m glad so many people come to Good Friday services. I’m glad I can be here.” Silence.
“I’m trying to concentrate, Lord; to focus on what it’s all about.”
“It’s hard for you when you’re so worried about your son,” He said simply.
“Yes.”
I tried and tried to keep my mind on the service, but at the end of the day there I was worrying myself into a state. The last hymn was announced and I gave a guilty start.
“Lord, forgive me,” I cried in the deep chamber of my soul. “I feel terrible. I couldn’t concentrate. In fact, I may as well not have been here. You see my son is in trouble, he’s dying inside.”
Then I heard sweet understanding saying to my soul, “When My Son was dying I couldn’t think about anything else either, so I understand, and My Son was dying on the inside and the outside!”
Then I sat quietly till all the people left the sanctuary and thought about the day His Son came home through The Front Door, all bloodied and beaten up, and I wept. “I’m sorry Father, I’m so sorry Father, for my part. Forgive me.”
“Done,” I heard Him say. “See you on Resurrection morning!”

Reflect:
How can I bring my worries and distractions to God, trusting that He understands my struggles, just as He understood the pain of His Son?
In what ways can I make space in my heart and mind to truly focus on the meaning of Good Friday, even when life feels overwhelming?
How can I embrace the grace of God’s forgiveness more fully, knowing that Jesus' sacrifice has already covered my shortcomings?
Father, thank You for Good Friday. Never let me get used to the things I know, or distracted by the things You allow. Keep the cross before me all the days of my life! Amen.

Amen🙏🏼 Thank you. I shared with my closest girlfriends and prayer warriors.
Such a powerful reminder that even in our distractions and heartaches, God meets us with compassion and understanding. Good Friday isn't just about sorrow—it's about a love so deep, it covers every burden we carry. Grateful for the cross, and grateful that Resurrection morning is coming! 💜✝️
