Celebrating the Children in Your Life

By Pam Farrel

“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done.” ~ Psalm 78:4

As a new mother, I was part of a Bible study that explored holidays and celebrations connected to the roots of our faith. Over the years, our family incorporated several of those ideas into our home. More recently, I was reminded again of the many feasts and celebrations woven throughout our spiritual heritage. God loves to celebrate with His children! If celebrating with purpose is important in Scripture, it seems wise to make it part of the way we invest in the children God has placed in our lives.

Whether you are a mom, grandmother, auntie, mentor, teacher, or cherished family friend, you have the opportunity to help shape the faith of the next generation. Children may not remember every lesson we teach, but they will remember the kinds of homes, relationships, and experiences we create. They remember traditions, laughter around the table, special milestones, family rituals, and the moments when they felt seen, loved, and celebrated. Those memories become markers of belonging and reminders of God’s goodness.
